PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device or method capable of easily creating a color profile which implements color reproduction as intended by a user, in accordance with features of a color conversion object, even without high special skills.SOLUTION: A color profile generation device comprises: a data reading section 100 for reading image data of a designated image; a designation receiving section 101 for receiving designations about a kind of the image and an output device to output the image data of the image; a screen display section 102 which displays a screen for inputting a setting value of at least one index to be regarded important when performing color conversion, corresponding to the designated kind; a parameter determination section 103 for determining a parameter to be used for color conversion on the basis of the inputted setting value; and a profile generation section 104 for performing color conversion on the designated image on the basis of the determined parameter and characteristic data relating to colors of the designated output device, and generating a color profile by using the read image data and a color conversion result. |
