PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance an energy absorption capacity of a hydraulic damper without applying an additional control force from the outside to a conventional hydraulic damper which connects hydraulic chambers at both sides of a piston reciprocating in a cylinder, and has an opening/closing control valve which changes an opening.SOLUTION: A hydraulic damper 1 comprises an auxiliary hydraulic tank 7 which can accumulate pressure oil, and opening/closing control valves D, E which connect the auxiliary hydraulic tank 7 and hydraulic chambers A, B. One hydraulic chamber A (B) generates pressure by closing full-opening/closing control valves C to E when the piston 3 moves in any direction, the pressure oil in the hydraulic chamber A (B) is moved to the auxiliary hydraulic tank 7 by opening the opening/closing control valve D (E) for connecting the hydraulic chamber A (B) which becomes a high-pressure side when an orientation of the piston 3 is inverted and the auxiliary hydraulic tank 7, the other opening/closing control valve E (D) is opened after differential pressure between the hydraulic chambers A, B is eliminated by opening the opening/closing control valve C for connecting the hydraulic chambers A, B, the pressure oil in the auxiliary hydraulic tank 7 is moved to the other hydraulic chamber B (A), and the opening/closing control valve E (D) is closed. |
