PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil composition in which processability, dispersibility of an abrasive grain, and float mist preventing performance are excellent, and odor is small in a grinding process or a polishing process of a processed material including a rigid brittle object.SOLUTION: An oil composition for a grinding process or a polishing process is the oil composition that includes at least 60 mass% or more of a mineral oil based base oil in which 5% distillation temperature is at least 200°C, 95% distillation temperature is at most 330°C, and an aromatic content is at least 0.1% and at most 15%, based on the total amount of the composition, and is used as a dispersion medium of a fluid dispersion including abrasive grains.
