PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the distortion of a projected video when a surface to be irradiated is a curved surface or an uneven surface in a beam scanning type display device for displaying a video on a screen by two-dimensionally scanning a beam light.SOLUTION: The beam scanning type display device includes: a reflection angle varying mirror 2 for scanning a beam light; at least two light detection means 3 disposed in the beam scanning direction of a mirror at a predetermined interval for detecting the light quantity of screen reflected light; a distortion correction operation part 7 for calculating an irradiation distance and a screen inclination from the light quantity of the reflected light detected by the light detection means in two different scanning timings and the inclination angle of the mirror at that time to calculate the drive correction value of the mirror; and a mirror driving part 4 for controlling the inclination angle of the mirror in accordance with the drive correction value. Thus, it is possible to calculate the drive correction value of the mirror drive part in the plurality of timings of the scanning period of the beam light, and to scan a beam light at the corrected mirror inclination angle.
