PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide circuit provided with a polarization holding function.SOLUTION: An optical waveguide circuit includes: a substrate; an optical waveguide layer, including an optical waveguide 101, formed on the substrate; electrode pads 102 formed on the optical waveguide layer; thin film heaters 103 into which current is injected from the electrode pads 102; and wiring parts 104 for connecting the electrode pads 102 and the thin film heaters 103. In the optical waveguide circuit, the electrode pads 102 are disposed on both sides of the optical waveguide 101 so that, when the electrode pads 102 are pressed by current application terminals for applying the current and stress distortion is thereby caused in the optical waveguide layer, a polarization holding function of the optical waveguide 101 is maintained. |
