PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device and a belt tension adjusting method of the steering device, in which a belt tension can be adjusted easily.SOLUTION: A rear wheel steering device comprises: a drive pulley 40 which rotates integrally with an output shaft 31A of an electric motor 31; a driven pulley which rotates accompanying rotation of the drive pulley 40 through a belt 33; a rack housing 23 having a pulley insertion hole 98; and a locknut 70 for fixing the drive pulley 40 to the rack housing 23. The drive pulley 40 includes: a pulley body 50 which rotates integrally with the output shaft 31A; a pulley housing 60 which is fitted to the rack housing 23 and houses a part of the pulley body 50; and a ball bearing 41 which supports the pulley body 50 while the pulley body 50 is rotatable against the pulley housing 60. And, the pulley body 50 of the drive pulley 40 is inserted into the pulley insertion hole 98 with being capable of approaching to or separating from the driven pulley.
