摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optic device in which changes in the luminance are less likely visually recognized by a user when proportions of application periods of positive and negative voltages are varied while generation of flickers is suppressed.SOLUTION: An electro-optic device 1 is driven in such a way that: a plurality of scanning lines on a display panel 10 is selected in a predetermined sequence in each of a positive polarity period when a voltage in a positive polarity with respect to a predetermined potential is supplied as a data signal and in a negative polarity period when a voltage in a negative polarity is supplied as a data signal; the data signal corresponding to a grayscale is supplied to a pixel corresponding to the selected scanning line in each of the positive polarity period and the negative polarity period; an effective voltage of the voltage applied in the positive polarity period and an effective voltage of the voltage applied in the negative polarity period to the pixel included in the display panel are detected; and proportions of the lengths of the positive polarity period and of the negative polarity period in a predetermined period are varied based on the detection results of the effective voltages while a specified image is displayed on the display panel.
