PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of generating, from image data, a text satisfactorily consistent with a sense perceived by human beings when they look at the image data.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus comprises: an image divider (47) which divides image data into plural areas: an edge information extractor (48) which obtains edge information on at least one of the areas; a color information extractor (49) which obtains color information on at least one of the areas; and a text generator (50) which generates a text using the edge information and the color information and associates the text with the image data.
