The present invention relates to a composition for external skin application which contains coumestrin as an active ingredient and a use of coumestrin. More specifically, the said invention relates to a composition having a skin antioxidant effect, a skin anti-aging effect, an improved moisturizing effect, or a skin whitening effect by containing coumestrin.
