Disclosed are an organometallic complex and a method for generating hydrogen using the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the an organometallic complex is presented by Chemical Formula 1-1 or 1-2. In Chemical Formula 1-1 or 1-2, A is a substituted or unsubstituted, in other words capable of having a substituent, aromatic or heteroaromatic ring; B is a substituted or unsubstituted, in other words capable of having a substituent, aromatic or heteroaromatic ring including nitrogen atoms. A and B is covalently bonded by Z. Z may be bonded a single bond, -O-, -S-, -CO-, -(CR′R′′)a-, -(SiR′R′′)a-, or -NR′-. |
