The present invention relates to a metallic hollow valve (1) of an internal combustion engine including a cylindrical shaft (2) having a cavity (5) and a valve head (3) connected to the shaft (2). According to the essential features of the present invention, the shaft (2) has an outer diameter (da) of greater than 5.0mm and smaller than 6.0mm and an inner diameter (di) of greater than 3.0mm and smaller than 4.6mm, and is provided with the a cavity (4) in the valve head (3), wherein a wall surrounding the cavity (4) has a thickness (b1, b2) of greater than 1.0mm and less than 2.0mm. In particular, the metal hollow valve (1) capable of being cooled can be produced, thereby increasing the knocking limit. |
