A mobile terminal receiving Internet services is configured to determine whether packets transmitted and received at each preset time interval exist by using one of a first communication method and a second communication method in a wireless communications system; generate a traffic pattern based on the result of the determination; and predict the state of the internet connection based on the generated traffic pattern.
