The engine has a turbocharger (4) with a turbine (4.1) driving a compressor (4.2), and located along a gas exhaust circuit (3) and the compressor. An air and gas recirculation conduit (5) including an end (5.1) serving as an outlet is connected to an air and gas intake circuit (2) upstream of the compressor to reintroduce air and gas issued from the intake circuit and the exhaust circuit. The end includes a connection device placed in such a manner that the air and the gas circulating in the recirculation conduit are introduced in the intake circuit while creating a swirling movement.
