The present invention relates to an information input device using an electromyogram (EMG) signal, which can receive information from a user using the EMG signal which records, in the form of a graph, a change in current generated according to the movement of muscles of arm induced by a hand gesture of the user in connection with the motion of the human body, and to a method thereof. According to the present invention, the information input device using an EMG signal includes an EMG signal detecting unit which comprises one or more EMG sensors to be attached to an arm of a user, and detects one or more EMG signals for recording a change in current generated by the movement of the arm induced by a hand gesture of the user; and a control unit which determines input information based on a correlation value according to the correlation between the one or more EMG signals, and which controls the determined input information to be transmitted to an information device, stored inside, or displayed on a screen.
