The present invention relates to a high speed switch apparatus and a method thereof. The high speed switch apparatus has a mechanical switch structure to have a high contact parting property. The high speed switch apparatus connects a low speed switch in series to stably maintain close and opening conditions to a high speed switch which easily secures an initial interpolar distance or stably maintains an open condition by applying a mechanical latch device to the high speed switch, thereby minimizing conducting loss.
