PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive recording material and a thermosensitive recording medium which are excellent in water resistance and plasticizer resistance.SOLUTION: The present invention is the thermosensitive recording material which contains an alkyl-modified PVA (A) and an amphiphilic compound (B). The alkyl-modified PVA (A) contains a monomer unit having a C5-C29 alkyl group, and the content of the monomer unit is 0.05 to 5 mol% inclusive. The degree of saponification of the alkyl-modified PVA (A) is 20 to 99.99 mol% inclusive. The amphiphilic compound (B) is a compound (B1) represented by formula (I) or a cyclodextrin compound (B2). |
