The backrest (1) is hinged to a vehicle body or a seat portion of a vehicle seat. A cable (12) is hinged at a trigger lever (9) at a distance from its pivot axis (10). The other end is articulated at the distance from a pivot axis (S) of the backrest to the vehicle body or the seat portion, such that the cable is ineffective in a locked position of the backrest. The trigger lever is pivoted to the seat portion in a lowered position of the backrest in a pivot locking position.
