PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an electroconductive polymer having low viscosity in a short reaction time without using an additional process.SOLUTION: Provided is a new process for producing the electroconductive polymer in the presence of a polyanion and comprises the steps of: preparing an aqueous or non-aqueous dispersion liquid or solution containing at least one electroconductive polymer and at least one polyanion; and irradiating the prepared aqueous or non-aqueous dispersion liquid or solution with an ultrasonic wave to perform a polymerization reaction. The at least one electroconductive polymer is optionally-substituted polypyrrole, optionally-substituted polyaniline or optionally-substituted polythiophene. The at least one polyanion is polystyrene sulfonic acid.
