<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device of wind power generation equipment which effectively prevents breakage, failure or the like of each element even when a big load is applied thereto from an external part without enlarging the power transmission device itself.SOLUTION: A speed reducer (power transmission device) of wind power generation equipment comprises casings 88, 90 which store output members (low speed members) 66, 86 of first and second simple planetary gear mechanisms 42, 44. Therein, the output members 66, 86 include first opposite surfaces 66F, 86F1, 86F2, the casings include second opposite surfaces 88F, 90F1, 90F2 respectively. The first and the second opposite surfaces do not come to contact with each other upon assembling; however, the first and the second opposite surfaces are arranged opposite to each other so as to come into contact with each other when a load transmitted on the output member exceeds predetermined values L66, L86 preset as a value smaller than extreme value loads Lm66, Lm86 which are such limits that the load to be transmitted on the output member can be transmitted. The first and the second opposite surfaces are respectively constituted with surfaces parallel to the shaft direction of the planetary gear mechanism. When the load exceeds a predetermined value, the first and second opposite surfaces come into contact with each other in the radial direction.</p> |
