Provided is an anti-claudin-4 monoclonal antibody having sufficient target binding properties. Only mouse monoclonal antibodies have been produced as claudin-4 antibodies in the prior art, while the antibody of the present invention is a rat anti-claudin-4 monoclonal antibody. Also provided is a pharmaceutical composition comprising, as active components thereof, the rat anti-claudin-4 monoclonal antibody, a human chimeric anti-claudin-4 monoclonal antibody, and a humanized anti-claudin-4 monoclonal antibody. The pharmaceutical composition is applied to cancerous diseases such as pancreatic cancer and bladder cancer.
