A method of manufacturing a wearing article is configured such that loop elements engaged with hook elements do not curl in a production process. Support members (13, 14) are mounted to those portions of an inner surface sheet (6) which are located at first side edges (11) in a front waist region (8). Hook elements (15, 16) are mounted to a chassis (2) through support members (13, 14). Loop elements (17, 18) are mounted to those portions of the inner surface sheet (6) which are located at second side edges (12) in a rear waist region (9). Seal sections (32, 33) are formed in third regions (30, 31) of the support members (13, 14) so as to correspond to the outer edges of the loop elements (17, 18). When the hook elements (15, 16) and the loop elements (17, 18) are engaged with each other, the seal sections (32, 33) and the loop elements (17, 18) formed on the support members (13, 14) are temporarily affixed to each other. |
