[Class 40 (ii)] In a magazine gramophone a pause mechanism for producing a time delay between playing of successive records consists of a smooth rod 1 moved step-by-step against a spring 2 by a driving member 7, which is oscillated by a continuously revolving eccentric cam 8, and grasps the rod 1 by mutually opposing edges at a certain angular displacement, the return of the rod 1 being prevented during the feeding process by a similar member 13, until the rod 1 trips a lever 25, whereby a clutch 22 couples the driving shaft 12 via pinions 20 and 19 to a pick-up control member 18. During playing of a record the curved part 16 of the member 18 supports the end 15 of the member 13, which is thereby rendered inoperative so that no feeding action of the rod 1 takes place. The amount of time delay may be preset by an eccentric disc 3, and the amount of movement of the rod 1 during each revolution of the eccentric cam 8 may be adjusted by means of the screw 5.</p> |
