PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently producing olefin polymer particles having an excellent particulate morphology without fouling accompanied.SOLUTION: A solid catalyst (K) for olefin polymerization contains a specific Zr-based metallocene-based compound and simultaneously meets the following requirements [1] and [2]: [1] the loss of ignition is 30 wt.% or less as measured on a differential thermobalance; and [2] after normal-temperature steam treatment and contact with acetonitrile, an eluted component contains a compound having a molecular skeleton of the specified general formula [I], where R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms.
