The present invention relates to a battery and to a motor vehicle. The battery (1) comprises, in one embodiment, at least one battery cell, preferably a lithium-ion battery cell. The battery (1) comprises at least one battery cell (3-1, ..., 3-n) in a thermally insulated housing (1-1), wherein, furthermore, an electrical heating element (6, 9) and a temperature sensor (7) are arranged in the housing (1-1) and are connected to one another by means of a controller (8) such that, in the event of cooling to or below a prespecified minimum temperature, the heating element (6) is heated to such an extent that the minimum temperature is maintained or reached again. The battery (1) is characterized in that the heating element (6) is designed as a flexible strip. This allows the heating element (6) to be arranged close to the battery cell (3-1,..., 3-n) and therefore allows the battery cell to be effectively heated. |
