An actuator device adjusts rigidity of partial sections (142, 144) of the lateral force device depending on the direction of the collision force to additionally activate or deactivate the lateral force device for receiving crash energy by using a die plate (130). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for adjusting rigidity of a device for receiving a crash energy (2) a control device (3) a computer program product comprising a set of instructions to execute a method for adjusting rigidity of a device for receiving a crash energy.</p>
