The device (100) has a lateral force device (140) receiving and asymmetrically deforming a deformation element (120) i.e. taper absorber, in presence of collision force of a force direction component (B) in a direction transverse to another force direction component (A). An actuator device adjusts rigidity of partial sections (142, 144) of the lateral force device depending on the direction of the collision force to additionally activate or deactivate the lateral force device for receiving crash energy by using a die plate (130).
