The method involves stripping an end of a multi-core round cable (1) by removing individual wires (2) of the round cable surrounding a cable sheath (3) such that the round cable comprises a stripped first region (4) and second region (5) that is insulated with the cable sheath. A ring-shaped portion (6) of the cable sheath is separated from the second region of the round cable. The ring-shaped portion is twisted such that the wires of the cable are separated from each other at a free end of the first region, where the separated single wires are expanded. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing a multi-core round cable.
