PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera that is user-friendly.SOLUTION: A camera 1 comprises: an operation detection section 110 that detects an operation of an operation members SW1 and 2; a power source control section 110 that changes over to any of an operation state where normal electrification is performed, a stand-by state where power is saved more than the operation state and a non-operation state where the electrification is not performed; a change-over instruction section 104 that instructs an automatic change-over to the power source control section 110 so as to change-over from the operation state to the stand-by state when first time elapses since the final operation is detected in the operation state, switch from the stand-by state to the non-operation state when second time elapses since the final operation is detected in the stand-by state, and change-over from the stand-by state to the operation state when the operation is detected in the stand-by state; an environment determination section 112 that determines a use environment indicative of whether the operation is difficult; a remaining amount detection section 110 that detects a remaining amount of a battery BAT; and a control section 104 that, when it is determined that the use environment is a difficult environment for the operation and the remaining amount of the battery larger than a predetermined value is detected, controls the change-over instruction section 104 so as to limit a change-over from the stand-by state to the non-operation state without changing the first time to be short.
