<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an electroluminescent layer from deteriorating due to moisture penetrating through the electroluminescent layer from a pinhole of an electrode.SOLUTION: An illumination device includes a plurality of island-like electroluminescent layers, that is, an electroluminescent layer is divided into plural pieces. By having the island-like electroluminescent layers sandwiched between a pair of common electrodes, even though moisture penetrates through one island-like electroluminescent layer, the moisture does not penetrate through the other island-like electroluminescent layers.</p> |
