A calibration apparatus for a scanning endoscope system having a light scanning device configured to cause light emitted from a light source to scan periodically within a predetermined scanning area, comprising: a relay lens to which light emitted from the light scanning device enters and which magnifies the predetermined scanning area; a light detection unit configured to receive light emerging from the relay lens and detect a scanning trajectory of the received light on a light receiving surface of the light detection unit; and a correction unit configured to correct a scanning parameter of the light emitted from the light scanning device so that the scanning trajectory detected by the light detection unit becomes a reference scanning trajectory. |
