PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochromic compound that develops a vivid color of yellow, the compound having a big absorption band around 450 nm upon color development and having hardly any absorption band of 550 nm or more.SOLUTION: An electrochromic compound is represented by the following structure formula (1). In the structural formula (1), X1-X13 independently represent a hydrogen atom or a univalent group, and the univalent groups may have a substituent. R1 and R2 independently represent a univalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group or aromatic hydrocarbon group, and the groups may have a functional group and substituent. Aand Beach represent a univalent anion.
