Provided is a production method for heat-resistant aluminium hydroxide, said production method including a step in which gibbsite-type aluminium hydroxide is subjected to heat treatment at a temperature in the range 180-300˚C inclusive, under a pressure ranging from atmospheric pressure to 0.3 MPa inclusive, and under an atmosphere having a water vapour molar fraction in the range 0.03-1 inclusive.
