A SYSTEM AND METHODS THEREOF FOR CONSUMER PURCHASE IDENTIFICATION FOR VALUE-ADDED TAX (VAT) RECLAIM

A system and implemented method for identifying a potential value added tax (VAT) reclaim for a purchase that provides a unique identification (ID) tag are provided. The method includes scanning the unique ID tag by a sensor; retrieving from a database information respective of the unique ID tag; retrieving from a user node a VAT receipt designating at least the unique ID tag; determining eligibility for a tax refund for the item based on the information and the VAT receipt; matching between the unique ID tag and the VAT receipt; and initiating a VAT reclaim upon the matching between the unique ID tag and the VAT receipt.
