<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array waveguide diffraction grating multiplexer/demultiplexer capable of monitoring output light without decreasing output from an output port.SOLUTION: An array waveguide diffraction grating multiplexer/demultiplexer includes: a first slab waveguide formed on a substrate; a second slab waveguide formed on the substrate; a plurality of channel waveguides connecting the first slab waveguide and the second slab waveguide; one or a plurality of input waveguides connected to the first slab waveguide; and an output waveguide connected to the second slab waveguide, and containing one or a plurality of outputting port for outputting m-th diffraction light (m is an integer) and one or a plurality of monitoring ports for outputting n-th diffraction light (n is an integer other than m).</p> |
