Provided is a speaker that has an electrostatic speaker unit and is provided with the following: a sound absorbing material having a first surface that is disposed on a first surface side of the electrostatic speaker unit and that has a surface area which is at least that of the first surface of the electrostatic speaker unit; and a holding member for holding the electrostatic speaker unit and the sound absorbing material. A second surface of the sound absorbing material on the side opposite the first surface is disposed so as to face a surface of a sound-insulating element, and the surface area of such surface of the sound-insulating element is at least that of the first surface of the electrostatic speaker unit. |
