PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable projection of an image with improved color expression.SOLUTION: A projection device includes: a light source section 16 for cyclically emitting light with a plurality of colors in a time-division manner by light emission from semiconductor light emission elements 19, 23, and 26; a micro mirror element 15 for displaying an image corresponding to color components of light by using the light from the light source section 16 and forming a light image by reflected light of the image; projection systems (17 and 18) for projecting the formed light image onto a projection object; and a projection controller 14 for allowing the micro mirror element 15 to be driven by setting switching timing for each color filter, and each timing of beginning and end of a switching period in which the switching timing is centered on the assumption that a color wheel provided with a plurality of color filters is used, and for setting a color wheel setting table 14a in advance so that the beginning timing or end timing corresponds to switching timing of colors of light emitted from the light source section 16.
