determining occurrence of a trigger event in a computer-implemented game played by a player on a user device; in an automated operation performed by one or more processors in response to the trigger event, presenting on the user device interactive promotional content comprising a sequence of sponsored activities for performance by the player, at least one of the sequence of sponsored activities being a gated activity whose availability for performance by the player is conditional upon performance of a respective preceding sponsored activity in the sequence; determining a level of interaction of the player with the interactive promotional content; and providing a benefit to the player based at least in part on the determined level of interaction. |
