This fuel cell device includes: a fuel cell stack that has a structure obtained by laminating a plurality of fuel cells; an outer surface cover that at least partially covers a side surface in the laminating direction of the fuel cell stack; and an interposed layer that is disposed between the outer surface cover and the side surface covered by the outer surface cover. The outer surface cover and the interposed layer satisfy X0>Fg/(K1+K2), where K1 is the spring constant of the interposed layer, K2 is the spring constant of the outer surface cover, Fg is the inertial force applied to the fuel cell stack, and X0 is the allowed displacement of the fuel cells in the fuel cell stack. Such a fuel cell device can be used to suppress positional displacement of a fuel cell stack.
