The objective of the present invention is to provide a reinforcing member for a flexible printed wiring substrate, and the like, able to maintain the grounding effect and electromagnetic wave shielding effect of a printed wiring substrate over the long term. The reinforcing member (135) is disposed opposing a predetermined portion of a grounding wiring pattern (115) in a printed wiring substrate (1), and has an opposing first surface that conducts to a conductive composition layer (130) at a predetermined portion of the grounding wiring pattern (115), and another surface that conducts to an external grounding member having a ground potential. The reinforcing member (135) for a printed wiring substrate has a metal substrate (135a) having electrical conductivity, and a surface layer (135b) formed at the surface of the substrate (135a) in a manner so as to configure at least a portion of the other surface; the surface layer (135b) has higher electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance than the electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance of the metal substrate (135a); and the thickness of the surface layer (135b) is 0.004-0.2 μμm. |
