The present invention relates to a gel electrolyte that contains a cyclic sulfonic acid ester represented in formula (1). The present invention makes it possible to provide a gel electrolyte which suppresses self-discharge of the polymer secondary battery, and a polymer secondary battery using the same. (In formula (1), R1, R2 are independently a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group with 1-5 carbons, a halogen group or an amino group. However, R1 and R2 cannot both be a hydrogen atom. R3 indicates a linking group selected from a group consisting of an alkylene group with 1-5 carbons, a carbonyl group, a sulfonyl group, a fluoroalkylene group with 1-6 carbons, and a divalent group of 2-6 carbon atoms to which an alkylene unit or a fluoroalkylene unit is bonded via an ether group.)
