The method involves suggesting an antenna, which is checked by an energy pulse over an exciter antenna (130). An oscillation of the checked antenna is detected in response to an excitation over a measuring antenna (140). The exciter antenna and the measuring antenna are utilized while detecting oscillation of the checked antenna. A magnetic alternating field of given field strength is produced. The field strength of the magnetic alternating field is adjusted dependant on self-resonant frequency. An independent claim is also included for a testing apparatus for checking antennas.
