PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device, a scale generation method of the imaging device, a program and a recording medium that enable measurement of a size of an observation object when photographing the observation object, and have an inexpensive and simple configuration.SOLUTION: The imaging device according to the present invention has: an imaging section that photographs an observation object; one or two or more laser beam light sources that irradiate a laser beam in parallel with an imaging direction of the imaging section; a light point detection section that detects one or two or more light points generated by overlapping the observation object on a photographing image due to a reflection of the laser beam, and calculates a position of the light point; a scale generation section that calculates a scale width of a scale serving as a measure of a size of the observation object in the photographing image on the basis of a position on the photographing image of the light point; a scale drawing section that draws the scale by being overlapped on the photographing image on the basis of the scale width calculated by the scale generation section; and a display section that displays the photographing image and the scale drawn by being overlapped on the photographing image.
