PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus which efficiently performs water treatment while reducing electric power to be supplied to an electrode.SOLUTION: The water treatment apparatus comprises: a treatment tank 1 for storing treatment water W therein; a housing 2 for forming a gas chamber 10 therein; a gas supply device 3 for supplying a gas to the gas chamber 10; a first electrode 4 provided in an inner part of the gas chamber 10; a second electrode 5 provided in the treatment water W; and a power source 6 which applies electric voltage between the first and second electrodes 4 and 5 to generate plasma discharge in the gas chamber 10. The housing 2 has bubbling means (8a and 8b) for supplying the gas in the gas chamber 10 to the treatment water W in the treatment tank 1 as a bubble.
