Protective Covering for Personal Electronic Device

A personal electronic device protective wallet covering. A main housing is dimensioned to fit securely and snugly around a personal electronic device. The main housing includes a window disposed on a front side of the housing allowing usable access to a front surface of a device disposed in the housing. A rear protective face at least partially covers a rear surface of the device disposed inside. A preferably externally accessible pocket is formed coextensively with the rear protective face, adapted to allow insertion and removal of cards or paper currency into and out of the pocket in the manner of a wallet. The window may be an absence of housing material, allowing direct user contact with the front of the device, or it may thin and transparent, allowing functional contact therethrough. The pocket may be formed between the housing and the device or between the housing and an additional layer.

A protective wallet covering for a personal electronic digital assistant device having a substantial planar touch screen interactive surface, comprising: a main housing having an inner housing configuration dimensioned to fit snugly and securely around the entirety of a personal electronic digital assistant device to substantially protect the top, bottom, sides, and rear surfaces thereof when held therein, said device having an outer physical device configuration, said main housing comprising: a primary and substantially planar window disposed on a front side of said housing allowing complete finger sliding, usable access to the entire surface of the interactive surface of the personal electronic digital assistant device disposed in said housing, said window and said front side of said housing being co-planar; a rear protective face substantially protecting a rear surface of the personal electronic digital assistant device when disposed in said housing; and a separate planar layer covering the rear surface of the personal electronic digital assistant device when contained therein, said planar layer and said rear protective face forming therebetween a cavity-like holding pocket for hidingly holding at least one of a conventionally-sized credit card when slid into and held therein, at least a portion of said holding pocket being separated from the rear surface of the personal electronic digital assistant device, sized to allow for quick sliding into and removal of said credit card into and out of said pocket, said rear protective face further comprising a slot providing access to said pocket and to allow access to a portion of the contents disposed in said pocket and to thereby facilitate a user frictionally pushing, grasping and/or removing the contents from said pocket.
