The present invention relates to an impact power tool and, more specifically, to a structure and a controlling method of the impact power tool which effectively perform an impact mode and a drill mode without power loss. To achieve the purpose of the present invention, the impact power tool comprises a power tool shaft (100) of which one end is combined to a tool; an anvil (110) formed at the other end of the power tool shaft (100); a hammer which applies impact in a rotational direction by being in contact with the anvil (110); a hammer boosting unit (210) combined to the hammer (200) and boosting the impact; and a boosting control unit (300) controlling the combining of the hammer boosting unit (210) and the hammer (200).
