摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively and stably operate a vertical-type scrap-melting furnace even when having used a scrap containing a lot of heavy scrap for an iron source, in a method of producing molten pig iron by melting ferrous scrap while using the vertical-type scrap-melting furnace. <P>SOLUTION: This production method includes operating the furnace on such a condition as to satisfy the expression of 0.75≤B/A (wherein A=[total amount of gas blown from tuyere (Nm<SP>3</SP>/sec)]/[horizontal cross-sectional area of inside of furnace at position of tuyere (m<SP>2</SP>)]; and B is apparent bulk density of iron source to be charged into furnace (t/m<SP>3</SP>)), when producing molten pig iron by blowing a gas containing oxygen from a plurality of tuyeres provided in the lower part of the furnace. The unit consumption of the coke is thereby lowered, because the contact time of the gas with the iron source becomes long, the efficiency of heat transfer is enhanced, the sensible heat of the gas is sufficiently transferred to the iron source, and the loss of the sensible heat of the gas is decreased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
