509,854. Delivering threads. LUSTRAFIL, Ltd., and BARKER, S. W. Jan. 29, 1938, No. 2888. [Class 120 (ii)] [Also in Group IV] To compensate for expansion or contraction of continuous threads or filaments during treatment such as, drying, washing, or bleaching, the threads are lapped around a pair of rollers of the kind shown in Figs. 1, 2 comprising portions having uniform, or varying conicity, or consisting of conical portions associated with cylindrical portions, or consisting of stepped portions, which may be of dog-toothed section, (Fig. 5). The spacing of the threads is automatically maintained by arranging the rollers on skew axes, or by passing the thread additionally over a bar inclined to the axes of a pair of parallel rollers or inclined to a plane symmetrical with the axes of a pair of skew rollers. The rollers may be provided with grooves of V-section.
|
