Method for operating a washing machine

The method involves providing a caustic solution container (2) for receiving washing liquid (3) used for treating laundry (8) through a water reservoir (12c). The wash liquid from the caustic solution container is partly conducted into the water reservoir for performing washing process in washing phase and/or rinsing phase. The wash liquid from the water reservoir is partly flowed back into the caustic solution container according to the washing process. The heating process is performed for heating the wash liquid in the caustic solution container. An independent claim is included for washing machine.
