In the present invention, there is disclosed a central island (3) of rotary intersection (1) roundabout traffic surrounded by a central ring (21) whereby the periphery of a vaulted central island (3) forms in the ground plan two opposite concave bends (23, 23´) wherein the ends of the first bend (23) contact the ends of the second bend (23´). The bends (23, 23´) are formed by at least two parts of curves of different radius of curvature, whereby the part of the first bend (23) with smaller radius of curvature is arranged opposite to the part of the second bend (23´) with greater radius of curvature and the part of the first bend (23) with the greater radius of curvature is arranged opposite to the part of the second bend (23´) with smaller radius of curvature, and on the central island (3), there is performed a visually separated spherical cap (24), on the apex of which there is performed a visually separated apex portion (25) of circular ground plan. The radius (d) of said apex portion in the ground plan projection is smaller than the diameter (D) of the spherical cap (24), whereby both the spherical cap (24) and the apex portion (25) are arranged co-axially.
