In the present invention, there is described a glass melting furnace, wherein power sources are arranged in the melting space in at least one row in the melting space longitudinal axis, or parallel to said longitudinal axis, and namely between a gable wall (2) and a transverse damming (7) in the molten glass (6) optionally with a transverse row of power sources (9) in the molten glass (6) melting section for generating a helical flow of the molten glass (6) with circular motion across the melting section. The power sources can be arranged in one or both lateral walls (4). The power sources are arranged at regular spacing. The power sources are represented by heating electrodes (10) and/or industrial glass burners (11). The melting section is preferably terminated by a transverse row (9) of heating electrodes (10) that are installed in the bottom (1).
