The present invention relates to a method for preparing (2RS)-amino-(3S)-hydroxy-butyric acid, which is a chiral amino acid, with a high yield and high purity by using a chemical synthesis method and enzymatic reduction reaction, an intermediate therefor, and a method for preparing the intermediate. The present invention can be usefully applied in preparing unnatural isomers of threonine or a mixture thereof.
